A Rondel Dagger circa 1480-1510, South German or Austrian style.

Blade of EN45 carbon steel with square reinforced point, two-piece hollow upper guard with hidden pein, one piece lower guard with folded tab, pierced with a sacred heart motif. The grip of holly wood is inlaid with four spirals of sterling silver wire.

The all-leather scabbard of hardened calf inner and horsehide outer layer, with tooled and painted decoration is based on a belt and purse depicted in "The Judgement of Daniel" by the Master of Mariapfarr, Salzburg circa.1500
